It is the first Cruyff football court in India, it is built by the Cruyff Foundation which is started by Dutch iconic footballer, Johan Cruyff. The court is specially built for kids to encourage them to play football which is one of the fastest growing sport in India.
The Cruyff court is a result of the economic collaboration between the Mayors of the city of Amsterdam and Mumbai. Both the respective Mayor of Amsterdam and Mayor of Mumbai were present during the inauguration ceremony. Also the minister of Foreign Trade and Development Co-operation Mrs Lilianne Ploumen along with the Dutch Consulate graced the event.
