Barasat Stadium in Kolkata got its artificial turf under the FIFA’s initiative of Win-in-India-with-India. The full size astro turf is successfully layed by the expert team of installers of Acosa Sports Infrastructure Services.
The Barasat Stadium got its FIFA 2 star certification after the rigorous FIFA testing process and is certified fit to play for national and professional matches. Salt Lake Stadium synthetic turf had lots of complaints regarding the increasing players injury hence Kolkata I-League matches were shifted to Duler Ground in Goa. The matches were shifted back to Kolkata thanks to the excellent turf laid at the Barasat Stadium.
“I will be carrying over 200 physical test on various aspects over two days, which are related to player interaction (griping of foot , friction, and other aspects) ball interaction (ball rolling and ball bouncing) and the system as whole. Apart from that , samples of sand, rubber and grass will be taken for chemical analysis” –Grant Humphreys, FIFA approved laboratory consultant for Testing.
