The synthetic hockey turf laid at Anna Stadium by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) is believed to act as a catalyst to popularize the sports further in the region.
The hockey turf was inaugurated by then transport minister KK Nehru and Ex-Indian world cup wining Indian team hockey players Mr Leslie Fernandez and Charles Cornelius also visited the hockey stadium and showered praises for the immaculate installation and execution of laying the hockey turf.
This hockey stadium host number of national and international matches and serve as a perfect practice ground for the players within Tamil Nadu and adjoining regions.
